Change is progress, and this nation is progression towards a new era where juvenile detention centers have been totally eradicated is closer than we think. Since 1999 the rate for incarceration in the state of New Mexico has gone from 800 plus to 122 in 2019. With the right programs and efforts continued around the nation I think we can make these numbers disappear in the next ten years. EMI is dedicated to the reform of juvenile detention centers, and the resources provided to local youths that hav been involved. be sure to check out the article written by the Casey Foundation for more information on Juvenile incarceration reform and justice. Also be sure to check out New Mexico's youth incarceration rate compared to the nation, very eye opening statistics to analyze.
